Who is God?

When we look at our world and this universe that we are part of, it is clear that its beauty and magnificence is not random or accidental, but part of an intentional design by an all-powerful being. Christians believe not only that God created and sustains this world, but that He actively seeks to be involved in the lives of His people.

Despite the harmful things we do to ourselves and this world, God wants us to know and love Him, and learn how to best live in this world. God desires us to enjoy Him and His creation as much as possible, and not just for today but forever.

Who is Jesus?

Jesus was not just a person from 2,000 years ago who taught people about God, but He was and is God. As part of His plan for this world, God came to earth in the form of a man. Jesus’ name means “God saves,” and He does this by bringing people into relationship with Him.

Division between ourselves and God is caused by our harmful actions in this world. Jesus was willing to give His life on the cross so that our relationship with God may be restored. The all-powerful God was willing to endure the greatest pain so that we would be forgiven and not separated from His love.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

God is spirit, and our relationship with Him must develop spiritually. Within ourselves we can feel the divine presence of the Spirit continuing the work of Jesus in our lives. The Spirit not only comforts us, but He guides us as we draw closer to God.

There is only one God, however, the Bible reveals Him to us in three persons known as God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. Together they share the one essence of God, but individually they are distinct persons.

What is the Bible?

The Bible is a record of God’s encounters with His people, and it details the faithfulness of God’s people as well as their defiance. The life, death and resurrection of Jesus is the central theme of the Bible. We learn how Jesus came to bring God’s wayward people back to Him, and we discover the amazing future available to everyone who puts their faith in Jesus.

The Bible reveals to us many incredible insights about our world, but to recognise the power and authority of the Bible, is to realise that this is a living book that contains God’s most valuable and important message that will enable you to enter into true life.

What is the Church?

The church consists of the body of people who have placed their faith in Jesus. This body of believers from all over the world is known as the universal church. There is also the local church, which refers to the various different groups of Christians. They can meet at any time and place, but most often in a chapel or a home.

It is important for believers to be part of a local church. Being with other Christians helps us to learn and grow in our faith, but we also need to work together to share God’s love and to help our community and world to thrive.
